Given current and emerging technology, what would production look like if we reconfigured it from scratch? We believe the answer lies in sustainable, globally networked, local manufacturing. Join us and be part of the future of manufacturing.
The Open Know-Where (OKW) standard was launched in 2021 to document and share information about the location of manufacturing facilities and capabilities globally, with the goal of mapping at least 150,000 points of interest by 2023. The OKW Data Awards offer financial awards for projects that integrate existing datasets or collect new data related to mapping manufacturing capabilities.
Read moreThis month focussed on Open Electronics Design-Data. Topics discussed included standardising a bill of materials format, creating a database of component names, and design rule checks for repairability

We believe that the future of production lies in decentralized manufacturing based on shared knowledge, allowing us to deliver products faster, made from locally sourced materials and with less ecological impact.
We are global Alliance of people and organizations building the knowledge and tools to enable this future. And we want you to join us.
Today’s emerging technologies will allow us to move from slow and inefficient global supply chains to a future where data and knowledge is shared across continents but physical products are made as locally as possible to where they are needed
